About Us

Spring Glen School is a diverse elementary school in Hamden, CT with approximately 450 students enrolled in grades K-6 where high academic standards facilitate the development of lifelong learners, problem solvers and independent thinkers. Our school believes that all children can learn at higher levels when schools utilize strong and timely communication with families, high expectation and intentional, and purposeful teaching. Our diverse curriculum includes instruction in Art, Music, Physical Education, and Library Media. Our strong partnership with our PTA helps provide a multitude of enrichment opportunities for our students, including many after school enrichment programs, including Art Night, a road race, school play, concerts and field trips. Our dedicated and talented staff is very committed to providing rigorous and differentiated learning opportunities so that our students are cognitively engaged. We use the Teachers College Reading and Writing program to teach literacy which includes specific mini-lessons and time to work independently. We also use a similar approach to teaching mathematics.
