You can help support Library Media Specialists and teachers in developing your children’s literacy by building time into their day to read for fun, reading along with them, asking questions about what they're reading, encouraging them to develop a lifelong love of reading and learning, and helping us teach them to be responsible with books and technology.
Library Policies
Students in grade K-1 can check out ONE book each week. Students in grade 2-6 can check out TWO books each week. They may renew their choices. All students may have no more than THREE books checked out at any time, however they may check out extra books as needed for assignments. Students may use their Google login credentials to log into the Destiny catalog where they can see their current checkouts.
There are no late fees, but overdue notices are sent home several times each year to remind students (and parents) of overdue books. Books that are lost or damaged beyond repair must be repaid in full. For Chromebook fines, you may pay cash, or make a check out to Hamden Public Schools. If the fine is owed for a library book, you may pay cash, or make a check out to Spring Glen School.
